Castello de Haia

Traditional soaps from Hay-on-Wye, hand crafted using the cold-processing method.

This interesting company is very proud of its roots in the Black Mountains. Castello de Haia was the town's first documented name and translates as 'castle in the enclosure'.

The soaps they produce use the natural preservative of essential oils and plant extracts rather than artificial stabilisers and their bars have none of the chemicals, detergents and animal fats that modern, machine-made soaps have.

The water for the soap is collected from a local spring that folklore claims has mythical healing properties; the spring was also later used for baptismal services by Hay's St. Mary's Church.

Handmade Bubbles

Handmade BubblesHandmade Bubbles produce a range of completely natural soaps and cosmetics from their base in Welshpool, Mid Wales.

Their products are produced using a traditional cold processing method, combining fine fragrances and essential oils with rich butters, botanicals, clays, herbs & spices. The soaps are poured into wooden moulds and left overnight to set before being cut by hand, trimmed and then air dried for 4-6 weeks before finally being ready for sale.

All Handmade Bubbles products are free from artificial colours, preservatives and animal fats. Here at Erwood Station Craft Centre we sell individual products as well as carefully selected gift sets on our online shop as well as in store.

Herbal Connections

Now available to buy from our online shop

Green Tea Bath Gift SetHerbal Connections are a small independent company based in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park.

They were first established more than 15 years ago and have since developed an extensive range of bath products based on their long standing interest in herbs and spices. They sell herb crafts, aromatherapy products, dried herbs and spices and decorated bottles and containers as well as a careful selection of those products in well presented gift sets.

All the ingredients and raw materials used come from well established and reputable sources and are not animal-tested. All foam baths, lotions and soaps are SLS and Paraben free.

Tirrion Beeswax Products

This small company based in the Usk Valley specialise in producing beauty products using the beeswax they gather from their hives.

These beekeepers produce lip balms, hand balms and massage bars by taking their beeswax and combining it with delicate ingredients such as Lavender, Bergamot, Rose or Geranium to create balms that moisturise and soothe sore or cracked skin.

Mill Cottage Soap

Based at her little stone cottage in the heart of Mid Wales, Joanna Westlake's Mill Cottage Soap company has steadily built a reputation for high quality and all-natural bath and beauty products.

Mill Cottage Soap refuse to use synthetic ingredients such as SLS, Petrochemicals or Parabens, but also decline to use the natural ingredient of Palm Oil. This is due to the devastating effect the use of Palm Oil was having on the destruction of rainforests, and the animals that were losing their natural habitat as a consequence.

They use a variety of different essential oils for their soaps and due to their small scale production, Mill Cottage Soap are more than happy to discuss bespoke soaps for special commissions. Each soap is individually wrapped using natural greasproof paper from Welsh company Lovely Packaging Ltd, while bio-degradable cellulose bags are used for their 'Bath Bomb' range.

Seren Ariana

This small family run business was founded by qualified aromatherapist and holistic therapist Brooke Goulding and is run from her home in Camarthenshire.

Her decision to first produce a range of handmade soap and skincare products was inspired by her eldest daughter being born with eczema. After plenty of research and experimentation they settled on the nauturally skin-softening formula they use today.

Seren Ariana like to combine traditional methods of cold-processing with natural and organic ingredients and contemporary style to create products that are valued by all who try them.

Welsh Lavender

Operating from a farm atop the Maesmynis Valley, Powys, Welsh Lavender began life in 2003 with a field of 2000 lavender plants and have thrived ever since. Now, almost a decade later, they have more than 8000 bushes and a total of four different varieties that they grow organically in the heart of the Welsh countryside.

Using their lavender oil and floral water as the basis for their products they produce high quality skincare products, designed by Helen Lowe - a leading artisan in the creation and development of creams - with an emphasis on ingredients that are beneficial; no artificial colours or perfumes are used in the process.
